Commissioned by theNorwegian Barents Secretariat, Oslo-based Reiulf Ramstad Architects are set torewrite the record books with their new cultural center as the world’s tallestwooden building. Located in Kirkenes, a multiethnic area in Norway, the17-story-tall building will be raised by using sustainable material and featureenvironmental solutions in different parts of the structure. Based on integratedsystems to adapt the altering seasons and climate, the wooden structure becomesa physical symbol of the significant role of the Secretariat in the region.
